When I was given the challenge, I knew immediately where I would donate my Christmas gift from CSB. What I did not know is how many others would join me in my giving to Transitional Living Center in Burlington.
Our gift will make a difference in many lives sheltered at TLC during the holiday season. TLC is the only homeless shelter in Western Racine County. It provides families and individuals a place to call home. When clients are housed at the shelter they are given support for legal needs, drug assistance, financial planning, mental illness, domestic abuse and many other services to help them transition back to independent living.
Transitional Living Center was founded in 1993 and is a nonprofit organization and is responsible for their own funding. Homelessness is a very complex issue and happens for many reasons. It is important to continue to educate the community about the needs of the organization as well as the changing needs of the clients it serves.
It is with great joy and thanksgiving that we are able to make this donation to TLC because of the giving of CSB and its commitment to the communities we serve.
