When I owned Curves in Racine, I was introduced to Steve Koss. Steve at the time was dealing with pancreatic cancer. He fought hard, but wanted to leave something behind. He and his wife Becky struggled financially and emotionally as Steve continued to deal with cancer. Because of this, Steve and Becky decided that they wanted to start an organization that would help families struggling through the life effects of cancer. They worked on all of the legalities of making this happen. As a local business owner, I had the opportunity to host their very first fundraiser at Curves. That fundraiser turned into multiple fundraisers and eventually developed into the Koss Family Foundation. Steve was able to see some of the benefits of his hard work before his life was taken. His and Becky's unselfish support of others really touched me. Today Becky continues to grow the foundation with her husband, Dan Faustmann. Their work is remarkable. I'm very grateful that myself and six other Community State Bank employees were able to give back to this community organization.
For this specific donation, Community State Bank has chosen to feature the story through a podcast. The CSB Marketing Department sat down with me to discuss how a group of us rallied together to support the Koss Family Foundation. Foundation Advocates and Founder, Becky & Dan Faustmann, also joined the show to talk about how the organization assists local families affected by cancer and how the community can be a part of continuing to make the organization flourish.
