I picked the American Legion, because ever since I was in Boy Scouts I’ve had numerous interactions with the American Legion Post 171 group. I’ve also had a great respect for our Veterans.
A couple of years ago Theodore Welch, a late Veteran, invited me over for a group outing with a handful of the legion members. I had the opportunity to hear their stories and get to know who they were as active roles in the community. This eventually led to Tom Turner, Legion Member, inviting me to be a part of the Sons of the American Legion.
I’ve only been to a handful of the meetings, but the times that I have spent with the group, I have enjoyed greatly and appreciate their continued support of our community.
